Post Script Design

Purveyors of refined visual solutions

Page concept/design description: A gent with his finger against his temple gesturing a 'no-brainer' attitude..

Sorry to be blunt but simply put, it's a “no-brainer”!

Our view

Post Script Design is a believer in standard-compliant and accessible web sites for all the right reasons.

Let's face it, our primary role as designers is to get the message across, not to simply make things look pretty. OK, it helps, but the implementation of accessibility and web standards is vitally important.

Dispelling a few myths

Accessibility is not just for the visually or physically impaired user, it doesn't mean producing lacklustre designs and layouts, it does not cost too much (in fact, designing with web standards is faster, more reliable and more efficient) and it's not just about the law.

In reality

It really means getting more for less. It is about being forward-compatible and getting a wider audience on all kinds of devices. It does mean that you are not adjusting for every new web browser that comes along and you can change the designs without affecting the all-important content.

In our opinion, accessible web sites is undoubtedly the only way to go and anything we can do to engage with a wider audience, the better. And with accessible web sites, everybody wins.

No hard sell required

Designing accessible web sites makes perfect sense - the benefits are as clear as day. If we simply propose and refer to web standards in our solutions without being too technical and overbearing, we can just get on with making usable and highly-visible web sites and leave the client chuffed to the proverbial.

Once clients find their site accessible, fast loading, ranking higher in search engines and getting lots of traffic as a result, they'll know they've chosen their designer wisely.

It really is a no-brainer.
